You all know I love goals. I love planning them each month, I love analyzing how I did (even though I sometimes have a bad record at actually meeting them), and I like achieving them.
Today is my 26th birthday, so it only seems fitting that as a birthday present to myself, I set a goal for my 26th year. Well, I don’t want to set goals for my year, per se. I already set goals for myself in 2013. I want to enhance my life by doing 26 new things while I’m 26.
Sarah from Yes and Yes gave me the idea and I liked the idea so much, I’m doing it for myself. Some things are big things, some things are tiny things, but all are new things to do (at least for me).
So, without further ado, the 26 new things to do while I’m 26 are:
- Go to Chicago
- Join a co-working space
Join a CSA(Completed summer and fall 2013)Watch Season 4 of Arrested Development(completed May 2013)- Master the art of driving a manual car
Plant an indoor herb garden(May 2014 – I’m going to count purchasing herbs and putting them in pots as “planting”)Run in a Color Run(completed July 2013)- Build a fence
Ride a mechanical bull(completed July 2013)- Go on a winery tour in the U.S.
- Go on a 20+ mile bike ride
Purchase a pair of gladiator sandals(completed May 2013)Make bread from scratch(January 2014 – I’ve made foccacia and hamburger buns)Walk across the Brooklyn Bridge(completed June 2013)- Try bubble tea (Yes, you heard correctly, I haven’t had it before)
- Go to an NFL football game
- Brew my own beer
- Support a project on Kickstarter
Donate my hair to Locks of Love or similar charity(completed May 2014)Write a recipe and post it to the blog(completed May 2014 – I’m counting building a workbench as a “recipe”)Make homemade ice cream(complete September 2013)- Attend a meetup event
- Do a “no spend” weekend
- Make my own candles
- Fly first class
- Go to a roller derby bout
So there you have it, 26 new things to do while I’m 26. Now I’m off to do new things!
