"May 8th Day of Liberation from Fascism" The many "May 8th Day of Liberation from Fascism" The many Stolperstein in my neighborhood were decorated today to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the official end of WWII. Each brass stone is a memorial for a person who was a victim of the Nazi regime. They detail each person's name, when they were taken, and what happened to them. The stones lay in small groups in front of the victims' last known homes or workplaces as daily reminders of who the victims were, our neighbors.
