As you saw in my earlier post, we’re a quarter of the way through the year! While it’s exciting to have some extra daylight, it is a little scary that things have been moving so quickly.
I barely even remember March. ‘Twas just a haze.
March Highlights
It was another slow month for me. I’m finding that the three times per week publishing schedule is a bit much, but I’m really trying! While there wasn’t a ton of new content on the site, there were a couple of good posts that you might have missed:
- Trying to plot out your career? I offer advice on how to plan out your career path in four easy steps. Hint: self-reflect, research, set goals, create a plan.
- Travel has not been part of my schedule lately, so I’ve been going to touristy spots around New York. First up, Chelsea Market.
- If you’re into goal-making as much as I am, you should check out my post about creating S.M.A.R.T. goals. It will have you creating awesome, achievable goals in no time.
March Goals Recap
I set three goals for myself in March. Let’s see how I did!
1. Read two books.
Success! This month, I read Lean In and A River So Long. Both were pretty good!
2. Sell something on Etsy.
I haven’t sold anything yet, but I have been making moves to create an inventory of things to sell. See my April goals below for more info.
3. Spend less than I earn.
I’m a little bummed about this one, because it’s the first since November that I won’t have a positive amount coming in (note that spending includes money that I’ve put towards savings and loans… so it’s not like I’m just blowing it all!). I know that I keep a tight budget, but it looks like I was too loose with my spending in general. On the bright side, it was only a $200 delta. I hope to make up for that this month.
4. Be a backyard tourist and visit the Highline in Chelsea.
Success! Last weekend I went to the Highline with a couple of friends. It was a nice brisk day and it was awesome. Look out for pics and a review soon.
April Goals
1. Read 2 books.
I’m going to keep up my reading momentum and aim to read another 2 books in April.
2. Sell something on Etsy.
My April goals are looking like a deja vu, but I’m going to keep this one as well. Now that I’ve started the process of getting things up on Etsy, I want to keep the momentum going.
3. Spend less than I earn.
Again, this is a good goal for me and one that I want to make sure I achieve, since I didn’t this month.
4. Plan a trip.
I’m going stir crazy! In April, I’d like to plan a trip for the upcoming months.
