During my 26th year, I set out to do 26 new things. I’m a couple of days away from my birthday and I haven’t done all of them, but I did manage to make my own ice cream, walk across the Brooklyn Bridge, run in a Color Run and more! Here is my experience donating my hair to Pantene Beautiful Lengths.
This week, I did what I thought was the unthinkable: I cut off my hair with the purpose of donating it! This is something I’ve always wanted to do, but for whatever reason it never worked out until now. Here is an overview of my experience of cutting my hair to donate and a run down of how to donate your hair if you are so inclined.
Looking for a way to hang on to summer as fall moves in full force? Make some homemade peach ice cream!
I made this ice cream a while ago, but as you all know, my life has seriously gotten in the way. Making homemade ice cream was one of the things on my 26 Things While 26 list. I thought it would be a fun, yummy and potentially cost-saving endeavor. Ice cream in the grocery store? Expensive! This ice cream? Not necessarily cheap, but it’s organic, free of preservatives and the like, plus I made it myself!
Making homemade ice cream is deceptively easy. The hardest thing you’ll need to do is scald the milk, but other than that… it’s pretty easy to do!
This past weekend marked the release of the fourth (and much awaited) season of Arrested Development. To celebrate the release and to mark off an item on my 26 New Things list, I partook in a Netflix binge. While I didn’t watch all 15 episodes in one day, I did watch them over the course of two days. And, if it makes me sound any more badass, I only watched two episodes on the second day. So the effort was there to get it done in a day!
To help you get ready for your own Netflix binge of Arrested Development or for any other TV or movie binge, I’ve compiled some tips to make your binge a success. This wasn’t my first binge, so I’m no newbie to this Netflix bingeing thing. In fact, I’m well-known for my abilities to latch on to a show and watch it relentlessly for weeks. I mean, how else would I watch be able to watch Breaking Bad in three weeks? Not just one season in three weeks, either. All four and a half seasons. And they’re 1 hour-long episodes, too!
blood, sweat and tears comfy clothes, a good Internet connect and fun times went into the making of this list, y’all.
You all know I love goals. I love planning them each month, I love analyzing how I did (even though I sometimes have a bad record at actually meeting them), and I like achieving them.
Today is my 26th birthday, so it only seems fitting that as a birthday present to myself, I set a goal for my 26th year. Well, I don’t want to set goals for my year, per se. I already set goals for myself in 2013. I want to enhance my life by doing 26 new things while I’m 26.
Sarah from Yes and Yes gave me the idea and I liked the idea so much, I’m doing it for myself. Some things are big things, some things are tiny things, but all are new things to do (at least for me).
