Goals

Monthly Review: October 2012

November 5th already?! I’m still playing catch-up with blogging and life in general, so it’s no surprise that it’s already this far into the month.

Last month, I shared four goals that I had for October. As I went through October and subsequently failed at all achieving all of them, I began to think about how I wasn’t sure how my personal goals would really be helpful to you.

Obviously, this blog is where I share my life and my experiences and goals, but I don’t want my life to be the sole focus: I want to provide entertaining and empowering information that you can use as you navigate the terrain of life.

So, I’m going to try something a little different as I move forward.

Monthly Recap

This has been quite the month, for sure. I entered October having just won the grand prize in the MyMoneyAppUp Challenge, spent quite a large portion of the month traveling, and became temporarily displaced by Superstorm Sandy.

If you’ll remember, I won MyMoneyAppUp for my design for Centz, an application that will help student loan borrowers track all of their loans and earn “Centz” which can be redeemed for cash rewards. If you have student loans or if  you’re in tune with the issue of student loan debt, you may want to check out the following:

The end of the month took me on a travel extravaganza to the West Coast. While I was traveling, I attended the ATM, Debit, & Prepaid Forum 2012 in Phoenix and Money2020 in Las Vegas to participate in conference sessions about the MyMoneyAppUp Challenge. I haven’t had a chance to recap my experiences, but I did get to share my experience of packing 7-days worth of clothing into my carry on. I’ll be happy to say that my packing really has done me well: I still haven’t been back to Hoboken and I’ve found that I haven’t needed much else (except a winter coat once I arrived in Rochester – something I luckily had at my dad’s house).

Living in Flux News & the Month Ahead

Upcoming Posts

While I don’t have much planned for November in terms of doing things, I do have quite a few good posts coming up. I’m planning to recap my experiences at the conferences, I’ll share some tips and pics from my travels, and I’ll even probably throw in a joke or two.

Living in Flux in the Months Ahead

After I get through all of my catching up, I want to strategize the next phase of my blog. I’ve been posting for about two months now and I want to make sure that I am writing useful, engaging content and I want to make sure that I am writing what people want to read. If you have any feedback at all, leave a comment or send me an email.

In the meantime, see you all on the flipside!

What did you do in October? What are you looking forward to in November?
